The College has two Boarding Houses, Anjuman
House and Avadh House that can accommodate almost 200
resident scholars. The former houses students from Classes
1 to 8 while the latter is for students from Classes 9
to 12.
The Anjuman House has a matron for students from Classes
1 to 5 and two resident housemasters for students from
Classes 6 to 8. The Avadh House lodges students from Classes
9 to 12 and has two resident housemasters to supervise
and co-ordinate the academic and extra-curricular activities
of the resident students.
Television sets, Table Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball
and indoor sports facilities are provided in each of the
two Houses. The resident scholars assemble in the Common
Rooms in their leisure to entertain themselves. Water
coolers are installed to provide cold drinking water in
the summers and geysers are available during the winters.
The College owns extensive playgrounds and swimming pools.
There is a Squash Court and a Horse Riding Pit. Facilities
for indoor as well as out-door games are available to
the students which give them ample opportunities to develop
their athletic skills.
The Mess has a long history of serving delicious food
that is nutritious at the same time. Non vegetarian dishes
are served more than twice a week. All dishes are prepared
by trained chefs, and served generously to the residents.
In case of illness, students are admitted to the 16 bed
Infirmary owned by the College. Sick students are looked
after by a full-time Compounder and three ward boys. The
Senior Medical Officer of the local Balrampur Hospital
or the Medical College visits the College Infirmary from
time to time. He is available in an emergency.
Height, weight and chest measurements are recorded in
the Progress Report of every child is sent to the parents
regularly. The parents of a new Boarder are supposed to
furnish a Health Certificate, based on which subsequent
information and routine inoculations are given to the
students. |

| Boarding
House Rules |
| |
The Boarding Houses aim at providing a
co-operative life-style, inculcating a sense of self-discipline.
The rules and regulations are strictly followed, and can
be summed up as under
|

|
|
Boarders are not
supposed to stay in their rooms/dormitories during
College Hours. The Boarding Houses are out of bounds
for the Day Scholars. Boarders are not allowed to
call their friends, whether they are Day Scholars
or outsiders, to their rooms. |
|
|
In case of any damage
to Boarding House property, the defaulter is supposed
to pay the full cost of the damaged property along
with an additional penalty, which may be imposed
by the House Master. |
|
|
Seniors are not
supposed to visit the Junior Wing, unless they have
the explicit permission of the House Master. |
|
|
Electric bulbs are
not issued by the College. |
|
|
The use of appliances
like heaters, electric irons, radios and transistors
is strictly prohibited. If a Boarder is found possessing
any of these appliances, he is liable to be expelled
from the Boarding House. |
|
|
Possession of obscene
and vulgar literature will lead to dire consequences
including expulsion from the College. |
|
|
Boarders are advised
not to keep costly items (like jewelry) with them.
Money exceeding Rs. 50/- will be confiscated and
returned only to the parents at the end of the term.
In the event of a theft or loss of valuable property
or cash exceeding Rs. 50/- the Boarder himself will
be held responsible. |
|
|
Parents are requested
to open an account in the names of their wards at
the Central Bank of India situated within the campus,
and deposit the desired pocket money in that account.
The minimum pocket money is Rs. 20/- per month,
and the maximum is Rs. 40/- per month. |
|
|
The timings fixed
for study, games and the mess are strictly adhered
to. During games hours, Boarders are expected to
be at the field. Those who are genuinely ill can
be exempted, and allowed to remain in their rooms/dormitories,
provided they obtain the permission of the House
Master and verified by the school doctor. |
|
|
Boarders will wear
such dress as behoves the traditions of the College.
During their off time in the Boarding House, wearing
of Lungis or any civilian dress is strictly prohibited.
Civilian dress is only allowed once a child is leaving
with parents for holidays. |
|
|
Students are expected
to shave and have regular haircuts. They must also
keep their rooms neat and clean. In course of the
weekly inspections, cases of habitual tardiness
will be reported to the parents and guardians. |
|
|
Boarders going
out on short leaves must obtain prior permission
from the House Masters. They ought not to go out
in any case without making the requisite entries
in the Short Leave Register. It is compulsory for
the Boarders to go out in their College Uniform.
They must always carry their Identity Cards with
them while going out. |
|
|
Overnight leave
can be granted only under special circumstances
by the Principal after getting a written request
from the parent or guardian. |
|
|
All cases of sickness
are to be reported to the College Infirmary. |
|
|
Parents are requested
not to visit their wards during weekdays. On Sundays,
the Visiting Hours are from 10 A. M. to 5 P. M. |
|
|
In case a Boarder
needs extra coaching, the guardian can make a request
to the Principal, through the House Master, to make
the necessary arrangements. |
|
|
The Principals inspect
the Boarding Houses regularly. |
|
|
|
|
| |
A balanced diet is served to the Boarders.
The mess is under the direct control of the College authorities,
and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are served.
A mess Manager ensures that the students are getting their
diets, and that the food being served is healthy and hygienic.
Parents and guardians are expected to inform the House
Masters whether their ward is vegetarian or non-vegetarian
at the time of joining the Boarding House. Under no circumstances
will the meals be served in the rooms. Boarders are expected
to report at the mess punctually at meal hours and observe
the mess rules. Silence should be observed during the
meals. All meals are served after a short prayer.
